After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wayne, Winfield was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 53-31 margin over the Point Pleasant Big Blacks. The win continues a trend for the Generals in their matchups with the Big Blacks: they've now won eight in a row.

Gabriella Canterbury had a dynamite game for Winfield, putting up 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Willard, who posted nine points.

Winfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They are 8-4 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Winfield's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points over those games. As for Point Pleasant, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.

Winfield will head out on the road to challenge Wayne at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wayne will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Winfield surely won't give up without a fight. Point Pleasant does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
