Basketball Recap: Christian Liberty's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

After flying high against Christian Life last Friday, Christian Liberty came back down to earth. The Christian Liberty Chargers took a 68-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Faith Christian Falcons on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 369th, while the Falcons are ranked 146th).

Faith Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Schuler led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Baker, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

With the defeat, Christian Liberty broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-5. As for Faith Christian, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Christian Liberty will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mooseheart at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Christian Liberty knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Mooseheart likes a good challenge. As for Faith Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Arthur-Okaw Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Faith Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.7 points per game this season.
