Baseball Game Preview: Whitewater Whippets vs. Monroe Cheesemakers

The Whitewater Whippets will venture away from home to take on the Monroe Cheesemakers at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitewater will be strutting in after a win while Monroe will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Whitewater turned things around against Parkview on Friday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Vikings. The match marked the Whippets' most dominant win of the season.

Mount Horeb hit Monroe with a four-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cheesemakers fell 7-4 to the Vikings. The Cheesemakers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Monroe saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Meier, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Whitewater's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Monroe, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Whitewater might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Monroe in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Whippets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
