Recap: Pine Crest Panthers vs. West Boca Raton Bulls
The Pine Crest Panthers were the 68-52 winner over the West Boca Raton Bulls when they last played one another back in January of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. Pine Crest took a 63-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Boca Raton on Tuesday. Pine Crest has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Pine Crest saw an underclassman step up: Rowan Hoffman scored 24 points. Hoffman has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Joseph Teich was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Pine Crest has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for West Boca Raton, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-9.
Pine Crest won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Oxbridge Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for West Boca Raton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Olympic Heights at 7:30 p.m. Olympic Heights is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
