Volleyball Game Preview: California City Ravens vs. Boron Bobcats

California City has gone 9-1 against Boron recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Ravens will host the Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. California City will be strutting in after a victory while Boron will be coming in after a defeat.

California City needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight matches and they got it from Sophia Dominguez. The Ravens walked away with a 3-1 win over Kern Valley on Thursday thanks in part to Dominguez, who had 24 digs. She has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.

The victory didn't come easy: Kern Valley scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 21-25, 25-23, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Boron was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against Bishop Union, falling 3-0.

While Boron was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-12, 25-22.

Boron's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13-1. As for California City, their win bumped their record up to 13-14-1.

California City was able to grind out a solid victory over Boron when the teams last played back in September, winning 2-0. Will the Ravens repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
