Basketball Recap: Fergus Wins Going Away Against Sidney

It was a Battle of the Birds when Fergus faced off against Sidney on Saturday. The Fergus Golden Eagles enjoyed a cozy 56-41 win over the Sidney Eagles. The Golden Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Fergus found their leader in freshman Madden Norslien, who went 8 of 9 en route to 21 points along with seven assists and five boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Norslien has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kason Brown, who posted 12 points.

Fergus is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Sidney, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fergus will head out to challenge Custer County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sidney, they will take on Dawson County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
