Indian River took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Beaver River, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wolves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Beavers on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wolves as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Indian River got a great performance from RJ Via as he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

Indian River's record now sits at 4-7. As for Beaver River, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-3 record.

Coming up, Indian River will head out on the road to face off against Watertown at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Beaver River, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Adirondack at 5:00 p.m.
