Basketball Recap: Daniel Drops Highest Score of Season Against Berea

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Daniel). They claimed a resounding 76-24 win over the Berea Bulldogs. With the Lions ahead 40-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Daniel got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lila Mann out in front who went 6 for 9 on her way to 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. That's the most boards Mann has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Campbell Epting, who made all 6 shots she took to post 16 points and three steals.

Mann wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Daniel was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win was the third in a row for Daniel, bringing their record for this year to 11-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.7 points. As for Berea, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-9.

Daniel will welcome Travelers Rest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Travelers Rest will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Daniel surely won't give up without a fight. As for Berea, they will venture away from home to face off against Blue Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
