Soccer Recap: Wharton Gets the Win

Wharton won the last time they faced Gaither and things went their way on Friday too. The Wharton Wildcats narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Gaither Cowboys 3-2.

Wharton hit Gaither with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Matthew Ramirez, Napoleao Neves, and Dylan Stamper.

Wharton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those four contests. As for Gaither, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-5.

After both having extra time off, Wharton and Sickles will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Sickles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Wharton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gaither, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hillsborough at 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Hillsborough is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season.
