Recap: Suburban Christian vs. Indiana Christian Academy Whirlwinds
If Suburban Christian were riding high off their 65-15 takedown of Varsity Opponent last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Suburban Christian received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 64-47 to Indiana Christian Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Suburban Christian in their matchups with Indiana Christian Academy: they've now lost three in a row.
Suburban Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Chad Glover and Tim Poynter. Glover scored 11 points along with five steals, while Poynter scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals. Poynter is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Luke Carter was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Suburban Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Indiana Christian Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Suburban Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Varsity Opponent at 7:15 p.m. on January 9, 2024. As for Indiana Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Heritage Hall Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Heritage Hall Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 355th, while Indiana Christian Academy is ranked 127th).
