Florida team romps to a 32-0 record this season and does it against quality competition all year long.

Bishop Moore High School (Orlando, Fla.) finishes atop the final MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National Volleyball Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.
In finishing the season 32-0, the Hornets won 86 of their 97 games on the season and defeated Florida state champions in three divisions – 3A (20-7 First Academy, Orlando), 5A (26-5 Jensen Beach), and 7A (Venice, 31-3) plus 8A runner-up Winter Park (26-6). The Hornets also beat Georgia 6A state champion Walton (34-7) and Kentucky big school runner-up Mercy (Louisville). The latter lost the Kentucky state finals to No. 5 Assumption (Louisville), 3-2.
All totaled, the Hornets played 16 schools from larger divisions and only six of their 2012 opponents had a losing record, whereas more than half of their foes won 20 or more matches.
Despite its impressive season, Bishop Moore wasn't a runaway to finish atop the final poll. Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, Calif.) defeated Martin Luther King (Riverside) Saturday night to win California's Division II state title and finished its season 38-0. The Monarchs swept MLK, 3-0, and won 101 and lost just eight games this season to earn the No. 2 spot in the final national poll.
It was Archbishop Mitty's ninth state title.
Among Mitty's victims this season were California Division I champion Marymount (Los Angeles) and D-I runner-up St. Francis (Sacramento) and highly touted Torrey Pines (San Diego). The Monarchs also defeated Division III runner-up Campolindo (30-5) and D-IV runner-up 33-6 Sacred Heart (Atherton).
Lafayette of Wildwood (Mo.) finished in the No. 3 spot with a 40-0 record and won all of its 80 games this season.
By defeating St. Francis, Marymount cracked the Top 10 at No. 10. St. Francis, No. 18 a week ago, remained in that spot.
In California's other state championship matches, Cathedral Catholic (San Diego) defeated Campolindo (Moraga), 3-1, to win the state D-III title; Parker (San Diego) needed five sets to beat Sacred Heart (Atherton) for the D-IV title and Branson (Ross) swept Tri-City Christian (San Diego) for the D-V title.
