Baseball Recap: Corbin Find Success

Corbin took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against South Warren, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Redhounds had just enough and edged out the Spartans 8-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redhounds.

Corbin got a great performance from Brady Webb as he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Corbin saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cam Estep, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Estep is becoming a predictor of the Redhounds' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 8-1 (and 9-13 when he doesn't). Bret Estep was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Corbin's victory bumped their record up to 17-14. As for South Warren, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-12-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corbin will challenge Harlan County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for South Warren, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against University Heights at 5:30 p.m.
