Preview: Marmaton Valley Wildcats vs. Humboldt Cubs
Marmaton Valley is 0-10 against Humboldt since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Marmaton Valley Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Humboldt Cubs. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Marmaton Valley beat Madison/Hamilton 49-43. The win made it back-to-back wins for Marmaton Valley.
Meanwhile, Humboldt put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Erie by a score of 41-31.
Humboldt's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sam Hull, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds. The matchup was Hull's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Colden Cook was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
The victory got Marmaton Valley back to even at 2-2. As for Humboldt, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
Marmaton Valley might still be hurting after the 75-50 defeat they got from Humboldt when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Marmaton Valley, Trey Sommer (who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 12 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
