Volleyball Recap: Noah Xiong and Jarett Sanders Secure Win for Wheatland

Wheatland saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top against the River Islands Riptide by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Leading Wheatland to victory were Jarett Sanders and Noah Xiong. Sanders had seven kills, six digs, and one block, while Xiong had 12 digs and two assists. That's the most kills Sanders has posted over his last nine matchups.

Despite the defeat, River Islands saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Taray Irving had nine digs.

The victory got Wheatland back to even at 11-11. As for River Islands, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.

Wheatland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Marysville on the 22nd. As for River Islands, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Venture Academy on the 22nd.
