Basketball Recap: Sully Buttes Comes Up Short

Sully Buttes was the 58-44 winner over Philip when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Sully Buttes Chargers lost 58-37 to the Philip Scotties on Monday.

Leading Philip to victory were Drew Terkildsen and Josie Jones. Terkildsen posted 16 points in addition to seven assists and five boards, while Jones went 5 of 11 on her way to 12 points and seven steals. That's the most steals Jones has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Fayth Martin, who had eight points along with six rebounds and six steals.

Sully Buttes' loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Philip, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2.

Sully Buttes will be playing in front of their home fans against Aberdeen Christian at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sully Buttes is facing Aberdeen Christian at the right time seeing as Aberdeen Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Philip, they will challenge Edgemont at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Philip is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season.
