Northridge hasn't had much luck against Viewmont recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Knights will host the Vikings at 3:00 p.m. Northridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Northridge didn't have quite enough to beat Bonneville and fell 6-5.

Boston Wright made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Parker Jeppson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Meanwhile, Viewmont had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Bees. Considering the Vikings have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Beckham Smith made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Viewmont is 6-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-4 otherwise. Smith was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last nine contests.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elias Culley, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Viewmont: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Boston Williams was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases.

Viewmont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Box Elder only posted a batting average of .217.

Viewmont now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Northridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Northridge has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Viewmont struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Northridge might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Viewmont in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
