Softball Recap: Concord Takes a Loss

Concord managed to slip by South Rowan the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Spiders lost 10-0 to the Raiders on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Spiders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Concord saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anamaria Shuman, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Concord's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for South Rowan, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Concord will challenge Lake Norman Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South Rowan, they will take on Northwest Cabarrus at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
