Basketball Recap: Oceanside Collegiate Academy Extends Winning Streak to 13

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oceanside Collegiate Academy). They took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging a 78-43 victory over the North Charleston Cougars. The Landsharks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 25 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oceanside Collegiate Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Drew Swyt, who went 6 of 8 to rack up 16 points and six rebounds. Swyt continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jake Thomas was another key player, going 8 for 9 on his way to 17 points.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Charleston only racked up six assists.

When it comes to explaining why North Charleston lost, don't look at Richard Hazel III. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards.

The win (which was Oceanside Collegiate Academy's 13th in a row) raised their record to 17-1.
