Softball Recap: Franklinton Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Franklinton put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Franklin Academy Patriots as the Franklinton Red Rams made off with a 13-1 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-4 last Friday.

Madison Lada was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adison Cabe, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Kaylei Main was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Franklinton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin Academy only posted a batting average of .200.

Franklinton's record is now 3-0. As for Franklin Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Franklinton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-1 loss against Roanoke Rapids on the 4th. As for Franklin Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 21-8 victory against Ravenscroft on the 4th.
