Basketball Recap: Lake Region Comes Up Short

Lake Region was the 77-66 winner over Bridge to Independence when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lake Region Thunder were just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 62-61 to the Bridge to Independence Wildcats. The Thunder's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Lake Region lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Christopher German, who posted 14 points. That's the most points German has posted since back in November of 2024. Lynkon Ricks was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Bridge to Independence's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jye Moreno led the charge by posting 24 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jaydan Jeantinord, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Lake Region's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Bridge to Independence, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Lake Region has already played their next contest, a 57-41 win against Hardee on the 3rd. As for Bridge to Independence, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 74-41 victory against HEART HomeSchool on the 31st.
