Basketball Recap: Stephenson Takes a Loss

Stephenson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 58-49 to the Riverdale Raiders.

Alpha Soumah had a dynamite game for Riverdale, going 7 of 9 on his way to 17 points and five steals. Those 17 points gave Soumah a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nigel Favers, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points.

Stephenson's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Riverdale, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Stephenson will head out to face off against Mt. Zion at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Stephenson is facing Mt. Zion at the right time seeing as Mt. Zion is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Riverdale, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lovejoy at 7:30 p.m.
