Martin Luther King extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Tacony Academy Charter. They blew past the Lions 16-6. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Jordan Thompson made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Martin Luther King let Messiah Stokes and Matthew Scott run wild. Stokes got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, while Scott got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Stokes has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Eli Mobley, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Martin Luther King was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in four consecutive games.

Martin Luther King's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Tacony Academy Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5-1.
