Baseball Recap: Mayfair Snags Ninth Victory in Last Ten Games

Mayfair won the last time they faced Dominguez and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Monsoons put the hurt on the Dons with a sharp 16-1 victory. Considering the Monsoons have won ten matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Josiah Gamez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Nolan Fox was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Lennear, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Mayfair is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Dominguez, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14-1.

Mayfair will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
