Volleyball Recap: Brevard Comes Up Short

Brevard saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of the Hickory Red Tornadoes by a score of 2-1.

Morgan Baldridge paced Brevard's offense, picking up eight kills. Baldridge got some help from Megan Pressley and her ten assists. Pressley was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Leading Hickory to victory were Ella Kate Stewart and Ryan Hines. Stewart had 13 digs and four assists, while Hines had 11 assists and three digs. That's the most assists Stewart has posted over her last seven matchups.

Brevard's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Hickory, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

Brevard didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Ashe County on the 20th. As for Hickory, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Cherokee on the 20th.
