Baseball Game Preview: Capital Golden Eagles vs. Kuna Kavemen

The Capital Golden Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Kuna Kavemen at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Capital has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Capital is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Eagle, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Capital was ranked 19th). The Golden Eagles fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. The Golden Eagles have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Kuna entered their tilt with Borah on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Lions by a score of 4-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Kaleb Olsen looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kuna saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Sperry, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Capital's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Kuna, their record is now 10-7.

Capital came up short against Kuna when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 6-1. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
