Challenger is 7-1 against The Master's Academy since September of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Firebirds will look to defend their home court against the Lions at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Challenger has eight straight wins, The Master's Academy has 13 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Challenger and Community Christian Academy had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Firebirds came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 21-25, 25-21, 25-16.

Meanwhile, The Master's Academy lost 3-0 to Lake Lure Classical Academy on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lions have suffered against the Raptors since January 5, 2021.

While The Master's Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Lake Lure Classical Academy's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-16, 25-21.

Challenger's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for The Master's Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Everything went Challenger's way against The Master's Academy when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as Challenger made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Firebirds repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
