Recap: New York School for the Deaf Golden Tornadoes vs. Montfort Academy Knights
The New York School for the Deaf Golden Tornadoes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 45-30 bruising from Montfort Academy. New York School for the Deaf lost against Montfort Academy in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 64-22 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why New York School for the Deaf lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kalilou Kaba. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Arturo Dominguez-Fermin, who scored 11 points.
New York School for the Deaf has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Montfort Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New York School for the Deaf will challenge Varsity Opponent at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Montfort Academy on the road again on Friday and play against New York School for the Deaf at 4:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
