            Softball Recap: Maranatha Christian Eagles vs. St. Joseph Academy Crusaders        
        
		
        
        
            Maranatha Christian got themselves on the board against St. Joseph Academy on Tuesday, but St. Joseph Academy never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Crusaders with a sharp  10-0 win. Considering the Eagles have won five matches by more than nine  runs this season, Tuesday's  blowout was nothing new.

 Hannah Visser made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Those  seven  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Kennedy Arango was  incredible,  scoring two  runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in May of 2024.  Aviana Werner was another key player,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with three  RBI and one  double.
Maranatha Christian is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for St. Joseph Academy,  they are  on  a  seven-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-8.
 Maranatha Christian will have some time to savor their  win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Guajome Park Academy at 3:00  p.m.  on  the 30th. As for St. Joseph Academy, they will face off against Orange Glen at 3:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.69  runs per game on average), something the Crusaders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
