Basketball Game Preview: Angeline Academy of Innovation Archers vs. Land O' Lakes Gators

The Angeline Academy of Innovation Archers will venture away from home to take on the Land O' Lakes Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Angeline Academy of Innovation's offense hasn't had much luck over their past 12 contests, but Monday's match will give them a chance to turn things around.

Last Thursday, Angeline Academy of Innovation had to suffer through a 63-4 loss at the hands of Zephyrhills. While losing is never fun, the Archers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 639th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 260th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Kaylie Charles, who posted four points.

Meanwhile, Land O' Lakes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 54-26 loss at the hands of River Ridge. The Gators were down 41-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the defeat, Land O' Lakes saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jessi Saffold almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine steals. Saffold is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least five every time she's taken the court this season.

Angeline Academy of Innovation's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Land O' Lakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
