Football Recap: Moss Point Comes Up Short

Moss Point fell victim to Gautier and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 39-0 loss at the hands of the Gators. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Gators recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Moss Point didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jordan McInnis and Jackson Jaden. Another thorn in Gautier's side was Jaxon Dubose, who picked up two sacks, forced one fumble, and made eight total tackles.

It was another big night for Latrell Pogue, who rushed for 143 yards and four TDs on only six carries for Gautier. Pogue's longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Moss Point's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Gautier, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Moss Point will be playing in front of their home fans against Vancleave at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gautier, they will venture away from home to face off against Greene County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
