Collins is 2-8 against North Forrest since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Collins has given up an average of 15.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Things were looking good for Collins after they put the first run on the board last Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 23-12 to Sacred Heart. Even if the Tigers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
DERWIN MAGEE and JORDAN MCDONALD did some serious damage despite the final result: MAGEE got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while MCDONALD went 4-for-5 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one double. CHIKEZIE MCLAURIN was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, North Forrest came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Rebels.
Chance Rogers was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Rogers was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for North Forrest: the team is 7-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Hayes, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Tyler Spencer, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
North Forrest's record now sits at 10-6. As for Collins, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Collins has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 13 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like North Forrest struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Collins suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to North Forrest when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
