Soccer Game Preview: Leland vs. Harbor Springs

The Leland Comets will square off against the Harbor Springs Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Leland sitting on three straight victories and Harbor Springs on six.

Leland barely beat Suttons Bay the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Comets blew past the Norsemen 5-1 on Tuesday. Considering Leland have won six contests by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Harbor Springs hadn't done well against Elk Rapids recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Rams came out on top against the Elks by a score of 3-1.

Harbor Springs pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those seven games. As for Leland, their win bumped their record up to 11-2-1.

Leland beat Harbor Springs by a goal in their previous matchup back in April, winning 1-0. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
