Softball Recap: Homestead Wins Going Away Against Norwell

Homestead won the last time they faced Norwell and things went their way on Friday too. The Spartans put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 11-4 win. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Macy Arnold looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Homestead let Addi Adams and Olivia Schultheis run wild. Adams went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run, while Schultheis went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Trinity Rager also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Homestead and bumps their season record up to 6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Norwell, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.

Coming up, Homestead will face off against Fort Wayne Northrop at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Norwell, they will square off against Central Noble at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
