Baseball Recap: First State Military Academy Takes a Loss

First State Military Academy suffered their closest loss since March 20, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Tatnall Hornets by a score of 5-3. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Maddox Holland was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of First State Military Academy's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 3-1 (and 4-9 when he doesn't).

First State Military Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Tatnall, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-11-1 record this season.

First State Military Academy will take on DuPont at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Tatnall does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
