Basketball Recap: Jimtown Jimmies vs. Elkhart Lions
The Jimtown Jimmies won against the Elkhart Lions last Thursday with 53 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Jimtown came out on top against the Lions by a score of 53-45. Winning may never get old, but Jimtown sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Leading Jimtown to victory were Javen Jackson and Brandon King. Jackson scored ten points along with four steals, while King almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Jackson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dylan Fey, who scored 12 points.
Elkhart lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Javeis Hines, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alonzo Newbern, who scored seven points.
Jimtown is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Elkhart, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jimtown will challenge the Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Tippecanoe Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Saturday. As for Elkhart, they will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Warsaw presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Lions in Indiana (the Tigers are ranked 46th, while the Lions are ranked 337th).
