Nixa faced Blue Springs South in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Eagles' defense stepped up to hand the Jaguars a 1-0 shutout. Nixa's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last eight matches.

Nixa pushed their record up to 21-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five contests. As for Blue Springs South, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-3.
