Baseball Game Preview: Opelousas Tigers vs. Mamou Demons

Opelousas is 0-5 against Mamou since March of 2017 but things could change on Saturday. The Opelousas Tigers will head out to challenge the Mamou Demons at 6:00 p.m. Opelousas has given up an average of 15.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Opelousas is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They lost 13-1 to Comeaux.

Meanwhile, Mamou suffered their closest loss since February 19, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Church Point by a score of 4-2. The Demons' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Opelousas' loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Mamou, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.

Opelousas might still be hurting after the 21-5 loss they got from Mamou when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Opelousas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
