Baseball Game Preview: Bloomfield Bobcats vs. Jemez Valley Warrior

The Bloomfield Bobcats will take on the Jemez Valley Warrior at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Jemez Valley took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Bloomfield, who comes in off a win.

Bloomfield was handed a seven-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Smoky Hill 4-3.

Blake Spencer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cable Carruth, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Damien Jaramillo was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, Jemez Valley started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Lordsburg. They lost 12-2 to the Mavericks on Saturday. The game marked the Warrior's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Bloomfield's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Jemez Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
