Burney has gone 9-1 against Chester recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Burney will head out to face off against Chester at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Chester will be up against a hot Burney team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Burney blew past Weed 14-5 last Tuesday.
Mia Perez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

In other batting news, Alyssa Hawkins was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Isabella Prindiville also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Burney kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chester). They put the hurt on Portola with a sharp 18-9 win on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Volcanoes in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.
Jenna Schlueter made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Schlueter was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run.
In other batting news, Chester got a massive performance out of Nancy Christianson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Sarah Branch, who scored four runs while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.
Burney's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Chester, their record now sits at 8-5.
Burney came out on top in a nail-biter against Chester in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 8-7. Does Burney have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chester turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
