Baseball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Start

Start extended their winning streak to five on Monday, bumping their season record up to 6-3-1 in the process. Everything went their way against the Rogers Rams as they made off with a 20-1 win. The Spartans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Bryce Creecy, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Buck, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Start always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

As for Rogers, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Rogers' side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Doering, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Start will head out to face off against Springfield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rogers, they will venture away from home to square off against Lima Senior at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
