Basketball Recap: Desert Christian Eagles vs. Valley Union Blue Devils

In what's become a running theme this season, the Desert Christian Eagles gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They claimed a resounding 74-25 victory over Valley Union at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-10.

Desert Christian was led to victory by Jonathan Brown and Tyson Dobbins. Brown scored 25 points along with six steals, while Dobbins scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Dobbins has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Luis "Fernando" Ayala, who scored three points along with six assists and two steals.

Desert Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. As for Valley Union, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Desert Christian will face off against the Lobos at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Patagonia is on a four-game streak of home wins, the Eagles a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Valley Union, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. St. David is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
