Softball Recap: New Prairie Cougars vs. Leo Lions        
        
		
            
 New Prairie had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Leo Lions on Saturday as the New Prairie Cougars made off with  a  16-1 victory. New Prairie's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
  Ava Geyer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out nine batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. Geyer has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in ten consecutive pitching appearances. Geyer was also stellar in the batter's box,  firing off three  home runs while going 3-for-4.
 In other batting news, New Prairie got a  massive  performance out of  Emma Luther, who  went 2-for-4 with a  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs. Luther has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  home run the last three times she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Addi Luther, who  went 3-for-4 with three  RBI, a  triple,  and a  run.
 On Leo's side,  Lillian Pierce was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 1-for-3 with a  home run and a  stolen base.
 The  win was  the fifth in a row for New Prairie, bringing their record for this year to 22-6. As for Leo, their loss dropped their record down to 26-6.
 New Prairie is on the road again  on Monday to play Western at 5:00  p.m. Both teams will come into the  contest having just posted big wins, so someone is set to suffer a big change in fortunes. Leo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
