Softball Recap: College Station Find Success

College Station picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Greenwood Rangers.

Gracie Ream spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hayden Urban, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Shaenyn Yates was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

College Station's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Greenwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.

College Station will be taking part in a tournament against Lake Belton at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenwood, they will take on Castleberry in a tournament on Thursday. Castleberry is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
