Baseball Game Preview: Galesburg Silver Streaks vs. Rock Island Rocks

For the second straight game, Galesburg will face off against Rock Island. The Silver Streaks will host the Rocks at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Galesburg came out on top against Rock Island on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Silver Streaks walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Rocks.

Galesburg got a great performance from Caden Riley as he struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts Riley has posted over his last four matchups.

On the hitting side, Jameson Dickerson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Galesburg is 6-1 when Dickerson posts two or more runs, but 7-16 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyree Taylor, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Galesburg's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-17. As for Rock Island, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-14.
