Basketball Game Preview: Rich Township Raptors vs. Homewood-Flossmoor Vikings

The Rich Township Raptors will take on the Homewood-Flossmoor Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Rich Township's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.

Meanwhile, Homewood-Flossmoor entered their tilt with Bloom on Tuesday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 41-36 W against the Blazing Trojan. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Blazing Trojan are ranked 61st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rich Township better keep an eye on Brent Taylor. He was instrumental in Homewood-Flossmoor's win, going 5-for-11 en route to 13 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That's the most steals Taylor has posted since back in December of 2024. Ethan Howard was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Rich Township is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. Homewood-Flossmoor's win bumped their record up to 30-3.
