Basketball Recap: Cross Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Cross was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-54 heartbreaker at the hands of the Savannah Classical Academy Spartans. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Stingrays came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 154th in South Carolina, while the Spartans are ranked 427th in Georgia).

Cross' defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Savannah Classical Academy, they moved to 4-7 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Cross wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 71-41 loss against Coastal HomeSchool on the 16th. As for Savannah Classical Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against First Preparatory Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2026.
