Basketball Recap: Mila Miller's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Tampa Christian Academy over East Bay

North Tampa Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Bay Indians.

Several Titans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mila Miller, who shot 4-for-6 from deep and dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. Miller has become a key player for North Tampa Christian Academy: the team is 2-1 when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jelissa Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, North Tampa Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Za'Myria King continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for East Bay, putting up 27 points. Another player making a difference was Ranay Brown, who posted nine points.

North Tampa Christian Academy now has a losing record at 4-5. As for East Bay, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

North Tampa Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-26 defeat against Gateway on the 27th. After both having extra time off, East Bay and Riverview will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 6:30 p.m. on January 7th.
