Softball Recap: Pike County Comes Up Short

Pike County fell victim to W.S. Neal and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 7-0 to the W.S. Neal Eagles. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

Pike County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paloma Cain, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base.

Even though they lost, Pike County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as W.S. Neal only posted a batting average of .333.

Pike County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for W.S. Neal, they moved to 8-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pike County will venture away from home to face off against Eufaula at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for W.S. Neal, they will head out to take on Excel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
