Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gilbert). They blew past the South Mountain Jaguars 26-2 on Wednesday. With that win, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Brody Dial looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, Gilbert got a massive performance out of Wilfredo Aviles IV, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those three hits gave Aviles IV a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Goodman, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
