Volleyball Recap: Holy Names Takes a Loss

If Holy Names was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Cornerstone Christian on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Monarchs came up short against the California Crosspoint Rams on Thursday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rams this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-2 defeat back in September.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: California Crosspoint scored at least 20 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-21, 25-21.

Holy Names has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for California Crosspoint, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Holy Names will face off against rival Making Waves Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, California Crosspoint is set to challenge their familiar foe Cornerstone Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
